I come from the city of Patna in Bihar and am now happily settled in Atlanta Georgia. My journey from my hometown to the United States has been exciting, full of growth, and even a little scary. The journey had its good times and bad, but it was worth it.
Born and brought up in Patna, I have had a wonderful family who has stood by me through thick and thin. When the time came to pursue my bachelors degree, I moved to Pune to attend BVP college and started my Bachelor’s in Electronics Engineering. The years were challenging and rewarding; I enjoyed my time there. After a little time to think and reflect on life, I wanted to get started with my post-graduation plans. I decided to pursue my masters in the United States. I chose Kennesaw State University, Georgia as the place where I wanted to begin my Master of Science in Computer Sciences (MSCS). Life was completely different than what it is here in India. The first year of my arrival in the United States was filled with a lot of challenges, but it also provided me with many opportunities. I was adjusting to new places, new people, and new cultures. I had a lot of things to learn about living in a new country like how to make friends or how to get along with people. But after some time, I started feeling at home and enjoying my time.
If you ask me what keeps me sane and things that I like doing, I’d like to mention my love for hiking and enjoying music. But there are a lot of things that could be listed as well. Being surrounded by people who are not only supportive but who also challenge you to grow yourself is a great way to keep on going with life.
I think that success comes from ownership, consistency, and persistence practiced in life. I am always trying to improve my skills and knowledge so that I can become more successful in my career. These three things combined have made me a much better person than I could have ever been without them. The ability to persevere and keep going when things are not going well is one of the most important skills you can have. If you’re not persistent, you’ll never achieve your goals. I believe that the power of these three can make you a better person and improve your life.
